As the first quarter of 2021 has wrapped up, we've taken a close look at the performance of the top Film & Television applications on the iOS platform in Australia. Utilizing data provided by Sensor Tower, we've identified key trends in downloads and weekly active users to understand the market dynamics during this period.

Disney+ started the quarter with a slight increase in revenue, peaking at around $390K in the first week of January before experiencing a gradual decline to approximately $284K by the third week. The app's downloads began at roughly 40K and saw a decrease over time, reaching about 22K towards the end of February before bouncing back to around 30K in the last week of March. Weekly active users fluctuated, hitting a high of over 1M in the first week of March.

Netflix exhibited a revenue peak of $217K in the first week of January, with subsequent weeks showing variability and a drop to around $150K by the end of March. Downloads for Netflix showed a declining trend from 47K at the beginning of the quarter to approximately 29K by its close. Weekly active users saw a slight increase, starting at about 2.3M and reaching nearly 2.4M by the end of March.

Amazon Prime Video maintained a consistent revenue pattern, starting at $119K and experiencing growth to reach $140K in late March. Downloads began at 14K and experienced fluctuations, notably spiking to about 26K in mid-March. Weekly active users for Binge gradually increased from 71K to nearly 98K during the quarter.

AnimeLab showed a revenue increase from $49K at the beginning of the quarter to around $63K towards the end. Downloads for AnimeLab started at over 10K, dipped slightly mid-quarter, and ended with a slight increase to nearly 9K. Weekly active users saw a modest rise from approximately 64K to just over 70K by the end of March.
